Yuri!!! On Ice the Movie: Ice Adolescence. GOT CANCELLED?

The movie from MAPPA, “Yuri!!! On Ice the Movie: Ice Adolescence,” has been cancelled due to various circumstances. The studio cited several reasons for the cancellation.

Originally announced in 2017, the movie was scheduled for release in 2019. However, due to the pressure from their other popular shows, MAPPA had to cancel this movie. Currently, the studio is focusing on other projects, including the adaptation of Chainsaw Man’s Reze Arc, as well as anime adaptations of Vinland Saga, Jujutsu Kaisen, and many more.

The news of the cancellation came as a surprise because “Yuri on Ice” was a highly successful project for MAPPA. The series nearly swept all the awards at the Crunchyroll Awards show in 2017 and was also named Anime of the Year.

Team MAPPA also released a trailer for this movie:
