The supernatural BL horror manga “The Summer Hikaru Died” by Mokumokuren is set to receive an anime adaptation! Mokumokuren has done both the art and the story himself. The manga has been published in English by Yen Press since July 18, 2023.
The BL elements in this series are very light, while the horror is heavily influenced by Lovecraftian themes. I can see this finding a wider audience.
Even though only 24 chapters have been released, the manga has sold over two million copies. As an award-nominated manga, it clearly shows great potential. The adaptation has just been announced, and there is no further information available at this time.
